How the Obituary.AI score works

Each quiz answer maps to a score, but not every question matters equally. Smoking, drunk driving, and core lifestyle signals carry more weight than smaller knowledge or environment items.

Once the weighted sum is calculated, it is converted into a bounded range. That makes the output easier to compare across users and easier to connect to result tiers.

Low scores are punished harder, while high scores rise more slowly. This prevents the result from feeling too flat and gives the lower half of the scale more visible consequence.

A random spread is applied to the final predicted age so repeated runs do not feel mechanically identical. That supports the entertainment framing and shareability.
